Open Studio :

Above are some of my projects that are finished, in progress, or barely begun. Included with the images are some of my notes and sketches, as well as some of my musings that never made it into my formal artist statements. It is in no way complete, and certainly not an accurate sampling of my work, but its at least slightly interesting and may give some insight into my process.

Although I make work in a variety of locations, I have been renting a studio space on the seventh floor of 701 Seneca to use as my studio since 1997. 701 Seneca is building N of the former Larkin complex. At the turn of the century, the Larkin company was the largest mail order company in the world. At the time, the Larkin Company was a small city in itself. Building N is a million square feet over eight floors. Some areas of the building haven't been touched since it closed in the 1930s. In front of my building is a parking lot that used to be Frank Lloyd Wright's Larkin Administration Building. A small piece is still standing in one corner of the lot. In it's wisdom, the city decided to raze the building in the 1970s. About the same time they cut the Olmstead designed park system in half with a highway and ran a larger highway along what had once been Buffalo's waterfront. Buffalo has a very poor record of dealing with history.

Sean kelly gallery
Over the summer I had my first show in NYC at the Sean Kelly Gallery. Titled Unframed First Look, it was a group exhibition juried by Adam Fuss, Jack Pierson and Cindy Sherman. Take a look.
